This Proves that Attitude Really IS Everything!

I have an amazing hubby that occasionally sends me some really good stuff in an email.  Here is just a tidbit that he sent to me recently.  It was sent to him from his boss, who is a great man!  So without any further ado --- here is some really good advice!

This is a great comparison of attitudes..

A famous writer was in his study. He picked up his pen and began writing:
**  Last year, my gall bladder was removed.  I was stuck in bed due to this surgery for a long time.
**  The same year I reached the age of 60 and had to give up my favorite job.  I had spent 30 years of my life with this publishing company.
**  The same year I experienced the death of my father.
**  In the same year my son failed in his medical exam because he had a car accident. He had to stay in the hospital with a cast on his leg for several days.
**  And the destruction of the car was a second loss. His concluding statement” “Alas!  It was such bad year!!”

When the writer's wife entered the room, she found her husband looking dejected, sad and lost in his thoughts.

She carefully and surreptitiously read what he had written, and silently left the room and came back shortly with another piece of paper on which she had written her summary of the year’s events and placed it beside her husband’s paper.

When her husband saw that she had written something in response – he read her “take” on the year’s events:
**  Last year I finally got rid of my gall bladder which had given me many years of pain.
**  I turned 60 with sound health and retired from my job. Now I can utilize my time to write better and with more focus and peace.
**  The same year my father, at the age of 95, without depending on anyone and without any critical conditions, met His Creator.
**  The same year, God blessed my son with life.  My car was destroyed, but my son was alive and without permanent disability.

At the end she wrote: This year was an immense blessing and it passed well!!

The same incidents but different viewpoints.

Moral:  In our daily lives we must see that it's not happiness that makes us grateful, but gratefulness that makes us happy.

There is always, always, always something for which to be thankful!  Attitude is the one thing over which we can have control, in every circumstance.  Live so that your memories will be part of your happiness. Be grateful!

BIO

Stephanie was born at a very early age in California.  She was a whopping 8 lb. 10 1/2 oz. when she entered this world.  She hasn't grown much in her years upon this great earth -  she hasn't even reached 5ft!!  What she lacks in height, she has gained in experience and talent.

While growing up she lived in exotic places such as Japan, California and Utah.  Because she had the opportunity to pack-up and move every two - three years, she has had the opportunity to adapt to change - often.

After graduating from high school, Stephanie worked in Wyoming on a guest ranch - best summer ever!  After she returned home she attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah where she studied Music Education.

Stephanie has worked with young children for many, many years as a child-care provider, Kindergarten teacher and she even had her own Pre-School.

She currently lives in Tremonton, Utah with her wonderful hubby, Scott.  She has three great children - Jessica, Russsell and Emma.  She also has one dog, a Schnauzer named Mia.

So Why Did I Start a Blog?

You may be asking yourself why you are even bothering reading yet ANOTHER blog written by a mother.  Believe me...I asked the same question!  I have learned, in my many years on this earth, that a journey starts with a single step.  Well, here is my very first step on my very long journey.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I will presenting it.....

So, my dear sweet hubby came to me the other day and said "You should start a blog!"

This brought a quick answer of "What would I blog about? No one would want to read or be interested in the things that I write."

He promptly said that I could write about whatever my brain thinks about.  Then I did some research about what a blog really is.  (I know...I learned from the internet what to do - quite scary if you ask me!)  I learned that a blog is really nothing more than an online journal.

Well, this won't be a journal - exactly- but I would like to share some thoughts and insights with you.  You won't find anything demeaning, crude or vulgar.  Just some insights as to what I have learned through my personal experiences.  Who knows - you might find some of the things I talk about insightful.  I would also love to hear from you, my reader.  I only ask that you be respectful - no vulgarity or crudeness.  I will try hard not to offend you, but if in the event that I do, let me apologize in advance, it is never my intent to offend.  I also send out a warning to my family members - you may be mentioned from time to time due to the fact that I have contact with you on a regular basis and you contribute to many of my insights.

So why the name "Short Mamma Insights"?

SHORT
Well, I am short .... no really.... 4ft. 10 1/2 in. is nothing to brag about!  Also, I will try to keep my "insights" short and to the point.

MAMMA:
I am also a mom.  I LOVE being a mom!  There isn't a day that closes that I thank a loving Heavenly Father for the children that He has given me!

INSIGHTS:
I have have a ton of experiences in life and I have found that I have gone through challenges in my life that are not only beneficial to me, but they have made me more relatable to other people.  You will hear about some of these experiences as I go along.

I hope that you will walk away after reading these blogs and feel uplifted in some small way.  Whether it be the "feel good" feeling, be inspired to carry on through a rough day, or chuckle a bit from what is written.  I welcome you, my reader, to a little bit of my world....
